Yearbook Procedures

Yearbook Procedures

Underclassmen photos

It is yearbook policy that all underclassmen must be photographed by Boyd Anderson Photography Studio (per district contract). We cannot use portraits from other companies, previous years, or any other supplied photo.

Missed deadline: If a student is not present on the day of school pictures (usually April/May of the previous year) there will be a scheduled make up day at school during the new school year (September). It is the responsibility of the individual to get their photo taken. Yearbook and administration will announce picture day in the bulletin and around campus. There may also be a possible make up session at the Boyd Anderson Studio. Students/parents must coordinate that appointment with the company. After that last make up session, it will likely be too late to place a photo in the yearbook. Yearbook needs to receive a disk from the photographer by early October to meet deadlines.

Senior Portraits

It is yearbook policy that all seniors must be photographed by Boyd Anderson Photography Studio (per district contract). We cannot use portraits from other companies, previous years, or any other supplied photo. It is the responsibility of the individual to get their photo taken at the studio. Portraits must be taken in the summer or early in the first semester to be placed it in the yearbook. Boyd Anderson will try to contact all seniors throughout the summer. The session is free and picture packages can be purchased separately. Yearbook will announce Senior Portraits in the bulletin and around campus. Students/parents must coordinate that appointment with the company.

Missed deadlines: After that last session in November, it is too late to place a photo in the yearbook. Yearbook needs to receive a disk from the photographer to meet deadlines.

Senior Ads

Senior Ads are available for purchase generally starting in October until school goes on Winter Recess. The yearbook staff cannot guarantee that space will be available that date. Ads will be accepted in the order in which they are received. Ad materials received after the pages are filled or after the due date will be returned.

Submission guidelines: Ads should not be reserved and need to be paid for in full and submitted by the due date. Submissions that are not submitted before the time of a printing deadline for yearbook will be left out and money will be refunded. Purchaser will select the ad size to purchase, use sample layouts, and choose the design number within that size. Changes may be made to these designs with prior approval of the yearbook advisor and/or editor. When submitting digital photos on a disk, all photos must be high resolution, at least 300 dpi, and saved as jpegs. *Original copies of valuable photos should not be sent; we cannot guarantee its return. Photo quality copies are encouraged .Computer generated ink jet photo images on plain white paper are also not recommended and yearbook staff cannot be held responsible for the quality of the reproduction.• We cannot use photos which have been cut, glued or taped to paper. Collages should not be submitted, as well. They do not reproduce well.
